Our winery is nestled in the historic town of Jerome, perched at 5,000 feet on Cleopatra Hill between Prescott and Sedona. The town’s rich past as a copper mining center provides a fitting backdrop for our artisanal approach to winemaking—both requiring patience, skill, and respect for the land.

Our Winemaking Philosophy
At Jerome Winery, we embrace what we call a “spartenistic” approach to winemaking—focusing on the essentials that make truly exceptional wine while avoiding unnecessary interventions that would mask the natural character of our grapes.
Our mission is to create wines that are enjoyable for both novices and connoisseurs alike, wines that speak authentically of their origin while remaining accessible and pleasurable.
Unlike many winemakers who follow traditional academic paths, our vintner learned the craft through hands-on apprenticeships under master winemakers throughout the United States and Europe. This practical education informs our approach, combining old-world techniques with innovations suited to Arizona’s unique growing conditions.
We believe that great wine begins in the vineyard. Our grapes flourish in the high-desert conditions of Willcox, where the combination of elevation, sunshine, cool nights, and mineral-rich soil creates ideal growing conditions for a variety of grapes. The distinctive “farmer’s tan” sported by our vintner testifies to the hours spent nurturing our vines to produce the highest quality fruit.

Our estate vineyard is located in Willcox, Arizona, a region rapidly gaining recognition as one of America’s most promising wine territories. The area’s combination of high elevation (4,300 feet), warm sunny days, cool nights, and well-draining soils creates perfect conditions for growing world-class wine grapes.
Willcox Wine Country benefits from a climate similar to some of the world’s great wine regions, allowing us to grow both traditional and unexpected varietals with excellent results. The intense sunlight and significant day-to-night temperature swings produce grapes with concentrated flavors and balanced acidity—the foundation for our distinctive wines.
